I was seeing a lot of promos for the Pinoy version of “My Girl” starring Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson. I’ve been terribly busy with school this summer that I just saw the trailer a few days ago. I adore the Korean version starring Lee Da Hae and Lee Dong Wok so this remake made me curious.

I’ll try not to be too harsh because all I’ve seen so far is the trailer. The fact is that I don’t usually watch the Pinoy dramas (stop the hating) but when I do, I really watch. So just to start a viewing habit, I’ll go and see this show. I’ve got some expectations though. I do hope that they won’t go too literal and copy the Korean series frame by frame. There are some themes that need to be adapted to the Pinoy context but not to the point of going overboard like what GMA did to Marimar. The last part was too painful to watch.

Nevertheless, I will reserve my opinion on the Kim Chiu-Gerald Anderson series after seeing the episodes. I know ABS-CBN will milk it for all its worth so I am going to see if it’s really worth my time.

Yes, that is the Korean version’s promo pic. It is better this way.
