Since I only turn on the tv when I get home from work, I rarely catch the promos. Later this afternoon I was able to see the promos for Dal Ja’s Spring on GMA 7. Can’t say enough that I am excited! I have read about this drama starring Chae Rim as Ol Dal Ja, a career-driven woman who hires a much younger man to be her fake boyfriend played by Lee Min Ki as Kang Tae Bong. This smells of the drama, “Foxy Lady” but from the preview I posted below, it looks like a fun watch. Also, I adore Lee Min Ki in Evasive Investigative Agency so the expectations are high on this one. I just hope that GMA will not butcher the dubbing like what they did with Coffee Prince.

I am really excited that Philippine tv is starting to embrace romantic comedies in its primetime lineup. Honestly, in between rising gas prices, rice shortages, and politicking, I don’t think watching tragic love stories is something that I wanted to do. I just wanted to go home, put my feet up and enjoy a good, funny romantic comedy. I forgive the networks when they are just taking advantage of the hallyu wave by dubbing Korean dramas or doing a Pinoy version (like the upcoming My Girl and My Name is Kim Samsoon) but I do hope that the writers will be given a chance to show original romantic comedies on tv. I adore Joey Reyes’ romantic comedies, maybe he should venture into television as well.

With that hope in mind, I’ll just wait and watch the ones we have.
