After posting my drama listing, I got an itch to check out Rosalinda, the new Kapuso drama. I have not watched the premiere which as I have just recently checked out was last week. My students adored this show so I guess it was worth checking out.
I am not going to compare the two leads to the original leads because come on, take a look at el caliente herself, Thalia:

But I think the girl in the Philippine remake, Carla Abellana, is pretty in her own sweet way. Perhaps she was cast because she is really pretty as a flower (excuse the pun) and she still needs to work the inner sexiness that Thalia was able to convey despite her sweet nature. Okay, enough with the Thalia comparisons (where is she now, anyway?) and let the girl do her thing. I am still undecided about Fernando Jose (Geoff Eigenmann) until I see him work the character. Apart from Mark Anthony, I rarely see male leads to act very well in a drama.
